Went out in our field earlier to check the electric fence and came across several lots of unidentified poo. Meant to go back with my camera but it was dark by the time I remembered, so will try tomorrow if its still there.
I wasn't sure initially if it was something an animal had vomitted, but fairly sure it was from the other end. It was basically tiny lumps of apple (our neighbour has a few trees), and not much else. There were 2 separate piles, and another patch nearly which was totally different - dark brown/black and full of blackberry pips. I have often thought the black stuff was fox poo, but would they produce the apple flavoured variety too? Otherwise, we have a few regular pheasants who have been here several mornings this week, but it seemed far too much for a pheasant to have produced at once! Also, the apple looked fairly undigested, so whatever it is they cannot be gaining much nourishment from it.
Any suggestions please? Try to get photo to follow, but we have had very heavy rain here this evening, so might be too far gone to see much.
