| | Cant figure out what is pooping in garden Hope someone can help as this is driving me crazy. Something is using our garden as a toilet, it happened last autumn, winter and spring but stopped over the summer! It has now reappeared and I have 3 young children who love playing on the grass but I have to go out every day and scoop up the poo! I have tried comparing the pics online but cannot identify - hope someone can help so I can figure out if theres a way to stop the pest! [/url

| | | Re: Cant figure out what is pooping in garden Dont think you really have to do anything -except give them a quick sweep of a broom to break them down. Its just the worms working their way through the earth, they do no harm,in fact they do more good in aerating the soil....harmless to children and pets I assure you

| | | Re: Cant figure out what is pooping in garden Yes, you can do any of the following .....
Leave them alone, brush them to make a neat and tidy appearance or move them to a bed or border.
Whatever you do though it's a benefical thing to have in your garden ! |

| | | Re: Cant figure out what is pooping in garden Worm Cast /Poo is the finest soil:- its been passed throuogh its digestive system. However if a Lawnmower goes over it - ( a Cylinder Mower that is) - it will turn it into a smear that lawn-proud people + Greenkeepers - would say with some justification - looks unsightly.
The smeared -site is also a great place for a weed-seed to germinate, and the smear also smothers a ( tiny ) area of very fine turf.
These people, using a fine brush, sweep the casts into the nearest flower-bed gutter, or or gently sweep them into a shovel etc & then place them where they can improve their surroundings.
Waiting until the turf has lost its morning dew-sheen makes the job easier - the casts are then dry (er) & break-up , and can then be spread evenly throughout the turf. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
