Brocakat, are you sure that's giant hogweed?, looks like something quite native to me
(cow parsnip type plant ?),
either way it's what the insects in visible range semed to be most interested in - so I'm in favour. | I hope I'm mistaken as they are v. nasty things. Heraculum mantegazzianum
grows much larger, when mature, than both Angelica archangelica or Cow Parsley ( Anthriscus )..........but all 3 are Umbellifer family members .
Did you throw it over to the Botansits on here, for an ID ? |

| | | Re: Recurring topic - caught rat release I think Kayleigh is right with wild angelica,
sorry, but I didn't throw it over there, probably too common a plat for that ?
Have you seen this giant hogweed about elsewhere ? |

I'd agree that the piccies here are to me - inconclusive.
A good site for reference pictures of the Giat Hogweed is:- http://www.kingcounty.gov/environmen...weeds/weed-ide...
(After typing this I checked to see if the direct link worked: it didn't, - but it does go onto the 'King County ' site . If you type ' Noxious Weeds ' into its 'search' provision you should get there eventually, onto the Giant Hogweed page . Sorry ! )
