I have just had a visit in my garden from a youngish hedgehog,the thing that bothered me was the time of day,16.00hrs,would he be okay,he seamed well enough eating peanuts and a little bit of cooked meat i put down,obviously this is not normal behaviour.Any Suggestions if he comes back would be appreciated.

Hi. I had a hedgehog in my garden last year in the afternoon on a very warm day. It seemed disoriented and sluggish but it ate some food and eventually toddled off into the border so I presumed it was ok after that. If yours doesn't seem injured and is eating ok then hopefully all will be well

I have had young hogs out at 17.30 in my garden and on a few other times they have been out well befor dark, if he she eating ok would think its ok, I asked the same Q on mammal forum may well be looking for water when it is warm as well. Ones that vist me love iams lamb and chicken cat food and mealworms have a look at the thead I posted young hedge hog p5 mammal forum
