| | | bug in my computer (screen) I am used to visitors flying or wandering in from the garden but today I have a tiny (1.5-2mm) visitor in my lcd monitor. I cannot get a decent look at it but it appears to be grey and looks a little like a soft velvet version of a woodlouse and has large (in relation to its body) antennae any ideas?
There is also a very smart looking fly here with patterned wings and a body with the range of colours found in creme caramel (around 4-5mm), its aim in life seems to be looking back at me through my specs. this must be a well known fly but I cannot find it.

| | | Re: bug in my computer (screen) No I do not think it is Thrips, but I am only aware of the adult form. I tried to photograph it but it only moves when the screen is on and the background cluttered. If you could imagine "Piglet" grey with no arms or legs reduced to
a couple of mm .................

| | | Re: bug in my computer (screen) That sounds more Proturan or Collembolan - beats me!
Still, I'm always amazed by how things can get into LCD devices and survive for some time. Calls for a scientific study! Quote:

| | | Re: bug in my computer (screen) That fly sounds like one of the Picture-winged flies. But there are a few to consider I'm afraid. I currently have 6 in my unidentified files, waiting for more time to have a think about them. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
