| | | Mouse or Vole- Identification and advice Whilst my dad was working in the garden he found these little creatures. Unfortunately their home was destroyed ( an accident, we were building a wall) I have been feeding them all every 2 hours through the night. They all seem to be doing great. However I am looking for some advice.
Firstly, Im not sure what they are. First thought was they were baby shrews, now my family thinks they are field mice. I have been trying to find information on them and I found this site. Reading another thread im thinking they could be voles.
Secondly, what would be the best action for looking after them. I don't mind waking up and feeding them but I want them to stay alive. When I figure out how to do it I will attach some photos of these little critters. I would be grateful of any help you guys/girls can offer.
Thank you. |

Sounds like they could be mice, do you have any photos you could upload?

| | | Re: Mouse or Vole- Identification and advice I have now attempted 6 times to upload the photos I have taken and although the upload states it is complete, the photos are nowhere to be found. |

| | | Re: Mouse or Vole- Identification and advice When you upload you select all the images you want one by one which I'm presuming you have done. Then click 'Upload/Submit'. On the next page you then need to click 'Process'
Also upload to Library Images rather than Gallery Images.

| | | Re: Mouse or Vole- Identification and advice I've never seen them so small, but I'm guessing by the size of the back feet it's a wood mouse. |

| | | Re: Mouse or Vole- Identification and advice It's not a topic I know anything about, but try these guys: Wildlife Aid - Home There is a helpline.
What I would say is the mice are very very young, so don't beat yourself up too much if they don't make it. You're doing your best. |

| | | Re: Mouse or Vole- Identification and advice well, they don't really have much advice, they are have explained that they are very young mice, roughly about 4 days. I have been told to continue what I am already doing and just hope it is enough. it takes about 23 days for them to reach an age where they can eat solids for them selves, so it seems I little bit of luck, and a lot of hard work may be in order.
Thank you for help | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
