Karth, as everyone has said, they will come (as long as there's not something very obvious putting them off). It's surprising how much food they will go through once they start! I'm sure that Chris Packam once said on Springwatch, that we all believe that we attract the same birds into our gardens, when in fact, birds feed then move on, never, or rarely to return. I'm not conviced about that at all. Were that true, then I'd have thought that the birds would be feeding straight away? Anyway, good luck with your feeding station. It does become infectious! Wizzo

| | Re: New Bird Feeding Station i put out sunflower hearts niger make sure you use a niger feeder otherwise it will blow away fat balls and i make my own birdie cake in spring and summer live and dried mealworms in winter soaked raisins and wind fall apples cake suit flower dried mealworms raisins sunflowerseed and muslie mix to a stiff paste not to dry and bake untill firm just like you would a sponge mix happy birding rob ps not use seed mixes to much waste and mess |

| | | Re: New Bird Feeding Station When I first put out niger feeders it took nearly 18 months for anything to find them , but now I get daily visits from Goldfinches and get Siskins in the winter.
My sunflower hearts are attracting a lot of birds , more than when I was using just a seed mix.
