Honey Bee ID Confirmation
Good evening

I have been photographing bee on my lavender for the last seven days, foolishly thinking that I'd be able to id them easily. Struggling to tell the difference between honey and carders. And why do some bees have shiny backs and others appear to be sporting a white fluff?

Photo from a local park - using this as it's a better photo for id then the one from my garden.

There are a great many varieties of bees and identifying them is extremely complex. Many are impossible to identify from photos.

Just a guess but that photo does rather have the look of a bumblebee to me so I wonder if it might be a well worn Bombus pascuorum.
