| | | Re: Bats I put up a bat box 5 years ago and eventually got bats in it. I then installed another bat box alongside with a camera in it connected to our TV. Last night I checked and there was something in the box but as it was very close to the camera I could not see clearly what it was but after a while realised it is a Tit!!
What a disappointment but still quite interesting to watch. Not sure if it will nest but would really like to evict it, certainly when the bats come out of hibernation. Any ideas? |

| | | Re: Bats It is probably just using it as a roosting place but if you could perhaps put a bird box up nearby it might prefer that when it comes to nesting, then you will have even more things to watch.

The species of bat would need to be known first, although most species mate in Autumn/Winter. Mating occurs within a roost, although aerial displays and chases do occur with males chasing females. Yours could have been territorial or just foraging behaviour. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
