There will be a public Bio-blitz in the Derwent Valley (Derwent Walk) Country Park from 6am Saturday to 6am Sunday.
The idea is to get everyone recording all living things in the hope of recording more than 500 species!

Cheers for the heads-up dampflippers. I'll pop along in the morning for a couple of hours. I have a species list of the moss flora I have found thus far to pass on.

Didn't seem too busy....mind I was off-track with my face in the dirt most of the time

Well done- how many mosses were you able to contribute?
When I left they were up to 500 species and knew they would be getting over 40 more (from bat walk etc).
Opal, the organisers will be at the Newcastle Green Festival today showcasing what happened at the bio-blitz. If you took any photos (of mosses etc), take your memory card along and ask if they want to copy them. Or if you want to email them, send me a message any I'll give you the email address.

Afraid its not that simple dampflippers, they needed checking under the microscope before I can submit the records.
I'm at 13 species so far, two are proving stubborn, I should have them by the end of the day 
Will email the list in.
How many species did you get?
