A bit of a mystery here.
A friend of mine brought round a few photo's he had taken showing claw marks on a tree at the end of his garden.
He lives in Leysdown on Sheppey and for those that don't know the area it is a holiday area on the coast with lots of caravans and chalet parks surrounded by open fields and marshland.
The claw marks are over a metre high up the trunk of the tree.
Has anyone any idea what might have made them?  [img]http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/archive/data/31

I've seen similar marks on a young tree in Capstone Country Park, not far from where I spotted a rather enormous paw print in the snow... |

Seriously, I have seen wild Big Cats in Britain but this looks more like deer marking to me.
