In general terms I am strongly averse to such trade. Apart from the possible effect on the population of the species involved in their natural habitat we have suffered enough from the release of alien spp in the UK.

I'm not flatly opposed to it but I would like to see it heavily regulated and I feel that licences should be required for keeping many of the species we are currently allowed to keep as pets.
