| | | Poo Day in the garden! Had a wander round our garden and field at the weekend, some quite interesting poo which I am not that sure about.
The first 2 I think may be pheasant as they spend quite a bit of time sitting on the wall, bit odd looking though and larger then expected
These 2 were deposited in slightly dug depressions, 1 was in a flattened molehill which has been scraped, I was originally thinking badger although the latrines I usually see are in slightly deeper pits
And the final one, really don't know, magnified I think I might be able to see something like a beetle shell and maybe slivers of bone, could be wrong though.
Anyone got any thoughts? What a way to spend a weekend!

Hope the other 2 mammal ones really are badgers, I know they are in the area so it's really cool if they like our garden and field

| | | Re: Poo Day in the garden! I'm not an expert in my own right but a walking companion who certainly could be described as an expert frequently pointed out fox poo to me. Your last picture does look like the fox poo I've seen. Don't know about the rest! |

| | | Re: Poo Day in the garden! Cheers everyone, I will go with badger & fox and maybe pheasant for the first two, great to have so much wildlife in the garden.

Dave | That's a possibility for number 5, we do have a lovely stoat in the garden, hope it's been eating a few rats! Still really pleased about the badgers in the garden, might do some night watching.
Thanks again all

| | | Re: Poo Day in the garden! I have to agree, it looks more like a small mustelid rather than fox. I think you've answered your own question there with a stoat sighting. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
