| | | Eco-friendly power stations I wonder if any of you who visit these forums have personal knowledge of the Bioflame waste management system. Apparently it is an eco-friendly power station which burns green waste, and the one which is planned to be built near here will use wood. However, some local residents are dubious believing it may give off harmful emissions and increase vehicular traffic, from lorries delivering the waste.
Perhaps you have such a plant near you. Has it given you any problems, or is it a successful plant with no disadvantages. I'm sure those who will be living near the one on the NY Moors - for and against - would be interested to hear of the experience of others. |

| | | Re: Eco-friendly power stations I started to reply to this yesterday,BATH (and north east somerset)
were given Wansdyke to play with and decided to plonk an Eco-park on it
this consumed "green waste" no explanation of what this was,and sounded very good but online research into proposals and studies showed the real story
An increase of heavy vehicular traffic 24/7, a new Rail-siding to bring in waste from Outside the county as contractors, the combustion process would be smelly, the prevailing winds taking it towards local housing,oh!and dioxins would be produced
Ask where the wood is coming from etc.
