| | | Halting biodiversity loss by 2010 This sounds really depressing to me .
In January 2006 Wildlife and Countryside Link and Wales Environment Link published a challenge to our Government by setting out what they thought the 2010 biodiversity commitment meant and how progress should be measured.
From their first review, it seems that the UK is on course to miss its target of halting biodiversity loss by 2010 .... only 1 in 9 of the targets has been achieved to date.
More information here .... Halting Biodiversity loss by 2010 – UK on course to miss target Wildlife and Countryside Link annual assessment
We still have a long way to go in terms of a genuine commitment to biodiveristy and a sustainable environment.

| | | Re: Halting biodiversity loss by 2010 The truth is not many people care. A fair amount will not of even heard of the word biodiversity let alone what it means. We and other states are great at setting goals but these goals are rarely met. The US now has to change their goals each year that are related to climate change just to keep up with what they never actually do! Still, it makes them look good and we are just as bad in many ways. |

Sadly, this government seems less receptive every day.
I could go on.
