Yes, the decad is nonsense - my mind was elsewhere. However, I've always known/used monad - perhaps it's a matter of what you're recording - botanists, beetlers and birders all using different units?

I am sure you are right about the difference between the three Bs - couldn't have three more diverse groups of people
