The hair looks possibly like deer, my guess is Roe - they look brown at a distance, but their hair has a greyish tone closeup. They are probably using the tree as a scratching post, to dislodge winter coat which is starting to moult now, and also lice/mites are affecting my goats, so probably making the deer itchy too!
