| | | I think I found a reedbed.. I was digging around on my greenway and yesterday found a brook. Today I think I found a reedbed. I will investigate further but it has been really overgrown for the last 30 odd years. We are finding all sorts of things as we clear two miles of dismantled railway line.
Any advice would be welcome. You can see our progress at: Cawston Greenway's Blog
Feel free to take a look and let me know your thoughts...

Does it have an introduction? Something to set the scene? Before I settle down to read it, glass of wine in hand, I want to know who you are, where it's at, why you are doing it, what motivates you, who else does it, etc, etc.

I guess that if you start at the webpage cawstongreenway.org this will give you an introduction.
The blog then takes you through the last 9 months of work. Hopefully you can sense how our experience has grown and how we have formed our own clear objectives, rather than being infuenced by the organisations that are supporting us, who have their own agenda too.
It has not been touched for 30 odd years so there is a lot to do.
Thanks for reading

If you find all the aerial photos that you can from the assorted online sources such as bing , google, multimap, google earth etc, you may be able to spot the outlines of streams and watercourses or wetlands...or where they used to be.
Some applications allow you a birdseye view which will give another viewpoint.
