Hello. Im a Train Driver. Knowing that Railways make great wildlife habitat i am sure you will make great discoveries. I believe that as restricted land like the Military has any Wildlife population counts cannot be done on railways in use. Clearing a disused railway and making it ideal habitat for say a species like the Adder which is scarce from the Midlands.

Here are some photos of our local Green way which is called The Wheelock Rail Trail. Years ago it use to be a rail track, but now it is a long walk and nature trail through stunning scenery, with a variety of habitats for wildlife.

We are slowly pushing the greenway wider. Hopefully it will look like yours one day.
