I have heard of this happening before, but here is a new example in the news today;

New Mystery As More Birds Drop Dead In US - Yahoo! News UK

What a horrible thing to come across!

heard in the past of migrating birds doing this as they have feed on plastic pellets, thought their belly was full, set of and died on the wing of starvation
