| | | Help needed! Blood in snow. Hi everyone, i would be really grateful for some advice. I found two small droppings and what looked like fresh, very red blood in the snow this morning by the door to the workshop where we feed our domestic pets. Does anyone know what animal would have left this? We have Muntjac, rabbits, foxes etc very near us.
Thank you! |

| | | Re: Help needed! Blood in snow. It would probably be easier with a photo but are you sure it's blood. There are a lot of colourful droppings around at this time of year as a lot of animals are scoffing berries.

Are there signs of a scuffle in the snow? are there Sparrowhawk friendly branches overhead?

| | | Re: Help needed! Blood in snow. Thanks for all your helpful comments. I should have taken a photo, but it is too late now. No scuffle marks, just two small (slightly larger than 50p - much larger than rabbit droppings) beige coloured poos and cherry red splatters of blood. Similar to when a dog is on heat. We do have sparrowhawk friendly branches right next to us, and we have a resident owl who often sits on our fence at nights and hoots.
We had the Inspector Clueso of foxes who got tangled in our hens' fence in a particularly dim way so I am wondering if it could be a fox.
Will photograph next time! Many thanks for your comments. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
