| | | Detective advice needed
My garden shed is pretty well surrounded by undergrowth. Every night for the past few months I have been leaving a cream cracker beside it, and invariably the cracker is not there next morning. I would love to know what is taking the crackers but I don't fancy sitting outside all night with a torch. Can anyone suggest how I can solve the mystery by detection? The only clue I can give you is that there are never any crumbs left. Also, in the summer I saw a brown rat in the garden and also a field mouse. |

Do you have snow at the moment? Good for footprints.

| | | Re: Detective advice needed Thanks for these suggestions. I hadn't thought of foxes, and we do have them in the area. We haven't had enough snow for prints but we may get more.
I'm afraid a motion activated camera is beyond me so I'll see what I can do about prints. For tonight I'll lean the cracker against the shed and put a block of new UHU White Tack in front of it. White Tack is quite soft so if it's rodents they will hopefully leave little paw prints in it. |

| | | Re: Detective advice needed Don't stop putting it out, I enjoy my little snack each night. I would try some sand or fine soil, raked flat. You may get some good prints.

| | | Re: Detective advice needed I like the clip Kayleigh. My visitor could well be a rat. But he didn't come last night. The cracker was still there this morning and there are no marks on the White Tack. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
