Detective advice needed

I always say "If in doubt always think Rat" . Eliminate him first. 90% of the time Ratty will be well in the frame.

Perhaps the Rat SMELT a Rat and did not like the white tack.As it saw or detected something unfamiliar.

Good point. It smells quite strongly of white spirit or something.

Rat never go where something has been changed or disturbed they are very cleaver...

I'm a bit doubtful that the white tack will work anyway, it goes quite hard at low temperatures and the weight of a rat probably wouldn't leave an impression. As kayleigh says, rats are clever wee things and very wary when things have been changed.
