All-taxa-listing

Recently following a post on the Insects thread I came across Mark Telfer's blog posting on All-taxa-listing, and was sufficiently intrigued (or sad) to do a back of an envelope estimation for my own all-taxa-listing. My original guesstimate was 1500, but after a few queries of my MapMate records and checks from field meeting listings I was really surprised to push it over 1800.

Apart from the obvious nerdy list ticking, I did find the process useful for: a) catching records which I'd never entered in the database, b) noticing records and 'photos which I'd completely forgotten, and c) spotting the really obvious 'why on earth have I never seen ...'. It did highlight what I already knew: I cant really name more than about 5 mosses and liverworts.

I'm sure there must be plenty of WABbers with lists of well over 2000 taxa. Any one willing to own up.
