On the corner of the Island just to the west of the old railway bridge you can usually find great quantities of Scallop Shells, not far from the Little Tern breeding site.
When the tide is at its lowest (spring tide) the fossilised shell beds are exposed on the beach at Bracklesham Bay, a beach noted for both fresh and fossilised shells, and, if you have a good eye, fossil sharks teeth!
So, yes, both Bracklesham and Hayling are well worth a visit
