| | | Snail Today i was called to a faulty ventilation fan (It was running very slowly and making all kinds of screeching noises) after dismantling and upon investigation, it was discovered that there was a small mottled light brown snail around 1/4 inch in diameter stuck to the inside of the casing which had jammed one of the shutters, this stopped the fan running up to full speed with the result that the motor was damaged costing nearly £300 for replacement unit.
Apart from the fact that this is the only time i have ever encountered such an unusual problem, it was even more unusual being that the fan was located in the middle of a flat roof 60 foot up from the ground.
How would the snail have got there?
Would it have climbed all that way which in human terms must have been similar to climbing Everest or would it have been dropped by a bird by any chance?
Sorry i have no picture but due to its location it was impossible to photograph it.
