| | | Any thoughts on who might be responsible for this poo Stony Stratford, Bucks.
I photographed this poo as it contained interesting, undigested parts of its creators recent meals.
Size: Ahhhh...now I didn't measure it and because of the photographic viewpoint it's not easy to calculate from lens and sensor size. Best guess is about 1cm as seen in this image.
Any idea what sort of animal is likely to have produced it?

| | | Re: Any thoughts on who might be responsible for this poo Probably wrong but I would guess it was a corvid pellet or similar rather than poo. That embarrassed face is before I find out how wrong I am. |

| | | Re: Any thoughts on who might be responsible for this poo posie - Would be quite interesting to dissect don't you think? 2dogs - Wow that is so interesting! I knew about owl pellets of course but it hadn't occurred to me that other predatory species produced them.....and of course it makes sense not to unnecessarily pass this sort of material through the digestive tract.
I often see crows and occasionally magpies sitting on the ledge where I found this pellet so it really does support your id. I'll be on the lookout from now on so thanks for enlightening me .

| | | Re: Any thoughts on who might be responsible for this poo I agree this is a pellet from a bird likely a corvid such as a jackdow or a common gull or black-headed gull. |

I visit this location maybe two or three times a week at various times from early morning through to late evening (walking my dog Maggy). Most common corvid are probably magpies (most days) with crows a close second. Jackdaws do turn up occasionally although I haven't seen any recently. Don't recall ever seeing gulls in this field although there are quite a lot of black-headed gulls in the Stony Stratford area.
