Why is it

That when you go out as i did last week armed with camera, everyone of my lenses, tripod and all the other bits which i lugged all across the forest, not one decent photograph could be taken.

Today, no camera, a beautiful Buzzard was on the ground, as as i approached it gently took off only to land on the top of a nearby telegraph pole just a few feet away and pose for me. Grrrrr.

Sods law . At the end of the day you have to just appreciate the opportunity you had to view this stunning bird. Photo's or no photo's im sure you still had a great day and to me thats what counts.

It happens to all of us - just a week ago we were sat in a caravan when a barn owl landed on a fencepost 10 feet from the window and sat and examined us for 5 minutes - only when it moved off did we see the 6 point roebuck some 20 yds away.

Enjoy the moment anyway but if photos are a must then so is carrying the camera I fear

When I see a photo opportunity and don't have my camera on me, I console myself with the thought - 'Id have probably of made a hash of the picture anyway'. Then my next immediate thought is- 'glad I didn't have my camera with me'.
There's some logic working here................I think?

I shall stick to making a hash of photographing fungi - at least you don't have to stalk them - and they never fly away

Lol been there done that etc...

The thing that used to happen to me was on leaving the car id say ' i'll leave the camera in my bag until i get there ' usually heading to a particular place for a particular animal, then on the way predictably something would walk out right in front of me!

I say used to cause i learnt my lesson

Yes, very annoying, either that or when you have the perfect shot lined up and just as you put your finger on the shutter..... The blighter flies off into the nearest tree.
