Puzzling Deposit in a Scottish Puddle

I was up in the Cairngorms last week, and after it rained the puddles all contained a fine yellow surface impurity, which seem to coalesce to the side.

Was present both at the camp-site in Glenmore and at the Ospreys at Loch Garten.

Never seen it before - what is it?

It's pollen from pine trees, my car is absolutely covered in it. I've a couple of pine trees outside my window and it's a bit breezy, there was a big cloud of pollen came loose during one gust.

Yes Hobjob - It's pollen - Seen more often following periods of rain when, as in your photo, it shows around the edges of water deposits.
