| | | Re: What is digging up my lawn? If alot of turf is removed then it would be badgers. They find the new turf easy to move because it has not fully settled in and the results can look like they have completely turned over the turf.
Leatherjackets become inactive from midsummer onwards, when they start to pupate so that would explain why it stops.
A lot of birds will eat leather jackets, but I would not think they area causing this to happen at night.
The only way of really knowing what is doing it would be to spend a long night with several mugs of cocoa watching and waiting.
I'm intrigued to know what is causing it.
