MONDAY 13TH
The Family Farm (BBC 2) 8.00-8.30pm. This is an excellent series of programmes focussing on 3 different farming families in Dumfries & Galloway. In tonight's programme Mungo Bryson, at Boreland of Parton, faces an anxious time looking after his pregnant cows in the middle of winter, and the McMorran family look for ways to save money. For all the families, Christmas is something to look forward to.

TUESDAY 14TH
Bill Oddie's How to Watch Wildlife (BBC 2) 7.00-7.30pm. Although its a repeat, I never tire of watching these programmes. Bill visits Devon to offer viewers the chance to watch wildlife in their own gardens including deer, Badgers and bats.

WEDNESDAY 15TH
Natural World (BBC 2) 8.00-8.50pm. In South America's Falls of Iguacu on the border between Brazil and Argentina. The wildlife includes great dusky swifts, coatis, caimans and jaguars.

Robins of Eden (BBC 2) 8.50-9.00pm. A new 10-minute programme on robins which have chosen to nest in Cornwall's Eden Project.

THURSDAY 16TH
Killer Crocodile (CH. 5) 7.30-8.30pm. A quest to find a crocodile which has supposedly killed more than 200 people in the area of Lake Tanganyika in Zambia, and to move it to a more secure location in Rusizi Nature Reserve.

Coast (BBC 2) 8.00-9.00pm. In Cornwall, Neil Oliver finds a network of communication cables under Porthcurno beach, and Mark Horton visits the Isles of Scilly - known to some archaeologists as 'the Isles of the Dead'.

The River Cottage Treatment (CH. 4) 8.00-9.00pm. Hugh invite a group of takeaway lovers to run their own food stall. These programmes are great and it makes you realise just how far most of us have come in forgetting our old 'hunter, gatherer' style of catching our own meat and making our own produce. Last in the series.

FRIDAY 17TH
Johnny Kingdom - A Year on Exmoor (BBC 2) 8.00-8.30pm. It's January on Exmoor and things get busy when Wild Boar are let loose in Devonshire, bringing the media to the area. I love this series and Johnny is an excellent wildlife presenter and can also be very funny at times. I have asked for the series book for Christmas so fingers crossed!

There's a prog on radio 4 monday eves about global warming/ Greenland ice sheet and what the impact will be for us all. Saw a bit of coast today where there's a project in Cornwall to raise baby lobsters to release in the sea, they had a whopper 50yr old female.
