| | | Introduced Species After realising that there is no one website that has a complete list of introduced species of the UK, I have been considering making one.
I have started by making a list of the more obvious ones, but I wondered if anyone here could provide the names of some more obscure ones. We could turn it into a game where we take it in turns to name introduced species. Also if anyone has had any encounters with interesting introduced species please tell your story.
I'll start off with a more obscure one - Knopper Gall.
You get loads of these on a couple of oaks near my house, and when I looked them up it turned out they had only been introduced to the UK in the 1960's and since then has spread to almost everywhere in the country.
You're turn now! |
