opened the back door earlier, only to find a feral pigeon snacking away on the seeds and mealworms i'd left on the table. now i wouldn't really mind, but there was enough seed there for everyone, and he just sat there, scoffed the LOT, and then sat there for a while afterwards as if waiting for more.

i leave seed over the garden too, and the wild birds tend to go for the stuff under the bushes and on the floor more, but i always find the stuff on the table disappears without me noticing. now i know where its going, in this greedy fella! not much i can do about it i suppose.

build a cage of plastic coated wire mesh round your table top so that the smaller birds can go through the mesh to the food but your ferral pidgeons are to big to do so.

This is working for me My birdtable designs are working well

I originally thought about erecting a wire cage over the feeders but as I needed to replace the tables anyway I thought this would look neater.
