Has any one else come across the direct.gov campaign for the safe disposal of aquatic plants?

I came across it as a banner advert on a random page

Interesting. Good to see an attempt to raise the public's awareness of this issue.

They could do with promoting it on all the gardening programmes, e.g. Gardeners' World and Gardeners' Question Time.

Also promoting it via garden centres which sell pond weed and aquatic plants - in my own experience, unwanted/invasive plants have always arrived in ponds via oxygenating weed or other plants purchased from these sorts of sources. Usually the dreaded Azolla.

That was interesting and raised a point for me that I hadn't thought about. I would use water from the pond (if I was emptying it) to water the garden but hadn't thought about fragments of plants entering the water system if I chose to pour the water down the drain.
