| | | Holes in my garden??? Hi, I have recently moved into my house which backs onto a field. There are about 10 holes (2" deep and about 4" wide) over the garden (see photos), and in the snow last night footprints. Can anyone tell me what animal they think there from.

| | | Re: Holes in my garden??? Yes, I have holes on my lawn too. Was just talking about them to a friend last night actually. They tend to show more digging on one side but are always about half a finger deep with a rounded bottom. If it was digging for roots I would expect the bottom to be more irregular. I would love to have this mystery solved. Has anyone actually caught the perpetrator red pawed?

| | | Re: Holes in my garden??? Can you get or do you have a closer photo of the footprints? perhaps putting a shallow bowl full of clay with peanuts on would gets some prints to assess. What shape are the holes, steep sided or bowl shaped? |
