| | | Re: What is this? looks like something out of the Blair Witch project. perhaps whoever took the top off the tree left it up there as a joke. Alternatively, a large fungus growing in a jagged break with a nest or drey built on top.
Have just thought. If the top was broken off during the growing season there would have been quite a ball of resin exuded. Something could have cashed in on this when building a nest.
