| | | What made these tracks Hi all,
I was hoping someone could help me identify what these tracks are. Seperate sets have appeared ofer the last 2 nights in the snow. They are single file, about 10 inches long with a gap of about 2 and a half foot between each track.
Thanks in advance for any info you can profide.

| | | Re: What made these tracks Thanks for that. after googling hare tracks you absolutely right.
Dident realise there were Hares in my area untill these tracks.
Looking at the distance between the tracks it must be quite a big one.
Lets hope he keeps himself well hid from the resident Buzzard and Red kites that are often hovering around.
Thanks again for your reply. |

| | | Re: What made these tracks One of my favourite animals, the Hare, it'd be great to catch a glimpse of it, it might be worth noting where and when the tracks were made. I guess they're bound to lead to its scrape / form at some point.
It should be safe enough from the Buzzards and Red Kite (i think red kite only take carion?) but its leveret's on the other hand...
we have Mountain Hare not too far away from us, wonderful animals.

| | | Re: What made these tracks A bit late in the day but I'm inclined to think these tracks are made by a rabbit rather than a hare, my reasons for this are as follows, the hares are the same whether travelling at speed or slower and the tracks consist of four separate footprints, of which the two rearmost are the two short forefoot tracks, placed one a little behind the other and almost in line.
Probably find a photo to show what I mean if need be. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
