back in the 60's I used to go fishing in the evenings using a torch to find my way around and luminous floats
a few days ago I revisited on of my old fishing spots and could almost see well enough to tie a hook,in the glow from three recently built houses almost half a mile away!
A farm I pass has just installed security lights because of a series of walk-in thefts at night, the owls have moved away,the light shines into the road as the car reaches detection range and dazzles
the extrenuous light upsets the natural rythms of life for mammals, birds, invertabates, insects. many companies now are very careful about exterior lighting,I think that householders should be to,a little thought will still allow security lights without them shiningg into a neighbours lounge window
or bothering migrating birds!
