posie, I can't believe it! I was thinking this morning about starting a thread about old country sayings related to wildlife. I log on lunch time and you've beaten me to it.

Yes, well you must get started earlier in the mornings . I was prompted to get on and start this thread by a comment H made on the FLINT thread, though,..... *for the life of me* .....I can't see how H's explaination of *stone the crows* is off thread, on a 'FLINT' thread. He was probably joking, but it....... *spurred me on*... to get this going, so... *Alls well that ends well*.....Poe..

On the way to work this morning i was thinking of the saying

"red sky at night,
shepherds delight,
red sky in the morning,
shepherds warning."


And I ended up wondering where this saying came from and who the shepherd was that came up with that one!
