lets pick a very small cattle breed ... The Dexter

average calf weight at birth .. 26kg

so unless the calf was born with a serious condition ( schistosoma reflexus) or your farmer mates fox was trained by Chuck Norris

Perhaps you should think about the strength of a fox compared with a new born calf which has not yet got to its feet.

I can only repeat what the farmer said to me, if you choose not to believe me or him then that is your choice.
