We may be the perfect species, though I seriously doubt it. The problem is that some people will not allow that other species can have what are deemed to be human attrubutes.
I suspect that one day humankind may just find out they are not the most advanced creature on Earth.
On a different tack, does anyone think that some animals have telepathic abilities?

He would get very excited and wait by their street door at about the time I got off the bus, about 10 mins walk away. I know they have a good sense of smell -so maybe it was the doggie treats I used to take and not me

| | | Re: So, can animals experience or display emotions? They are good at that loripo. How do they know where they are no matter how many turns and twists there have been in the journey. When we reach Henry's place or my parent's house Gizmo knows and starts whining. Does he have a full smell map of several counties?

I couldn't take him with me when I went fishing, but somehow he knew when I'd decided to come home. My folks noticed that he'd stand and look out the front window and sure enough, I'd be back in about 15 minutes. I didn't come back at a fixed or regular time either.
No way could that be his sense of smell...I was more than a mile away.

Well they have habilities that might be considered in the parapsicology and paranormal if humans would be able to do it.
For example, how do dogs do to identify cancer in a person only for sniffing at them?
I have a great respect for all creatures and certain admiration. Yes we, humans, have more brain to do more complex things, but they have capacities that until few years were unknown. I wonder how many more things they can do? |

| | | Re: So, can animals experience or display emotions? Sometimes I only have to look in my dogs eyes and I can just tell that they are trying so hard to tell me something. I do believe that animals are much more in tune with their intuitions than we are. Obviously, some humans can tap in to these abilities but generally we are very resistant to our inner selves. |

Their senses are often far more acute than ours: Fletcher (an English Setter) regularly sniffs out pheasants from a quarter of a mile away. He's got other abilities too
It's still a mystery to me how Roo (the dog I mentioned above) knew when I was coming home.

You could see the absolute fear in her eyes!! (The cat, not my mum.... ) | Interesting...my cat actually comes when he sees me with the brush, absolutely loves the brush. I only have to knock with the brush on the floor tiles and he comes purring!

Did you read the news about this dog? Sadly he passed away but I remember his adventure in newspapers. BBC News - Pet labrador which 'knew train timetable' dies
About telephatic powers and animals, we humans put all what we dont understand in the supernatural powers, dont we?
If we were able to travel in time to the prehistoric age, we might be the shaman of the tribu with all things we know |
