| | Psychorabbit Apologies for this being about Stewart my psychorabbit, but those of you who read 'Abandoned Pets' will know that I picked him up on the nature reserve so there is a (tenuous) link to wildlife.
Stewart was taken really poorly today and the vet said that it is a parasite in his brain. She had suspected that he has been through this before because one of his ears flops and he used to have his head tilted (she had told me that he had permanent brain damage). She said that the parasite can lay dormant, but has now re-awakened. If he starts rolling around he will have to be put down.
Does anyone know anything about this parasite? What are his chances - particularly if it's a recurrance? I've looked on the websites that I can find, but am none the wiser. |

| | | Re: Psychorabbit Thanks NJP. That looks like the one, and the outlook looks ok - we caught it early. Fingers crossed for no long-lasting disability. I'd miss the little blighter. |

What an awful thing to happen to him..
I wonder if that's why he was abandoned maybe the vets fees put them off..
No reason to abandon a pet but it happens.. |

| | | Re: Psychorabbit Update, and thanks for your kind replies.
Stewart just bit Dylan, so think he's feeling a bit better. He hates the cats having a cuddle and as Dylan is stubborn the only way Stewart can get rid of him is a really hard bite!
Not out of the woods yet, but really good. |
