i'm currently doing a project on how domestic cats effect wildlife, some of you may have seen similar projects by a woman at reading university.
what i've done is post questionairres out to people in nottingham, and those who want to help me have to keep a diary of what their cats bring back, so i can collate data and see if factors such as what they are fed, how much they're let out, or whether they wear a bell on sonic device has any effect on their predation success.
i've got quite a few people doing this for me, but my return rate was pretty poor, so if there's anyone from nottingham here who would like to help, i'd be very grateful!
if anyone is interested, there is a good journal article about it here
The Mammal Society: Mammal Fact Sheets
also if anyone can help me identify this bird someone sent me a picture of for the project it'd be much appreciated, i thought it was a young robin, but its hard to tell without knowing its size, but using the plantain flowers as a scale i came up with that conclusion!!!!
