| | | Wild Thing I Love You Bill Bailey is starting a new wildlife series called "Wild Thing I Love You" on Channel 4 next Sunday...looks like it could definitely be a good one to watch.
"Wildlife series in which Bill Bailey and a team of experts try to rescue some of the UK's most vulnerable animals by investigating the causes and engineering solutions. The A35 road in Hampshire is one of the UK's worst spots for deer/vehicle accidents and across the New Forest a deer is killed almost every week in a car accident. The team discover that not only are most collisions occuring on a fast bend near overgrown vegetation, but the special underpass appears to be unused by the animals. " |

| | | Re: Wild Thing I Love You Looking forward to watching it. A couple of my mates are New Forest Keepers & their beats cover parts of the A35. They regularly get called out, mainly at dusk, but also in the middle of the night to attend an RTA involving deer. |

| | | Re: Wild Thing I Love You Has anyone else been following this series?
I seem to catch it by accident....its not bad.
Its nice for me that im beginning to understand some of the more techy terms and procedures due to me doing my degree.....
I liked tonights program, The dormouse bridge....one thing that bothered me was there was no mention of if and how the vegetation in the mesh tunnels would be renewed? as surely with rain etc they will rot down to nothing?...
still a good series if nothing else it opens joe pubics eyes to the problems our wildlife faces.
im imformed an up coming program in the series about water voles was filmed at my Uni/college in the summer....and may have some of my tutors on it ha ha |

| | | Re: Wild Thing I Love You Can vouch for the telegraph poles standing the elements lol. The vegetation, maybe if they plant ivy at base of pole, it could find it's way into the tunnel - don't recommend this on your local pole, as our engineers won't be able to climb it under health and safety rules.
Good show, and proves Bill isn't a klingon! | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
