I keep coming back to this. You obviously all, like me, find this totally alien.
LIke Dogghound I think Why. We seem to be dividing into two species, those with empathy and acceptance of other creatures and those with none. It seems some people think they should be able to do as they want, with no regard for the feelings or inconvenience of others. I wondered when the memorial to the people killed in the bombings was put up in Hyde Park, how long it would be before some - what are they - things had a go at that and it was about two days. Depressing...

As I said to someone else... it's entitlement.

I see this mentality wherever I go, living in a kinda scummy area. They think they deserve everything. They're over-confident and cocky. The schools treat them like misguided angels that should be treated lightly because they're 'troubled', and the police just won't touch them. They think they're gods, and many of their parents teach them that they can walk over anyone and they don't have to give a toss about anyone else. Basically, they're warped minds - perhaps so warped they have had any empathy removed from them. They also feel like their life is going nowhere, they lack a drive to improve themselves. This isn't entirely their fault, but doesn't justify their behaviour.

It's a result of a mixture of an unnatural environment (modern western society) and stupidity on the part of political correctness - it's why they know they can get away with everything. Basically, the government needs to wake up and give us back the power to discipline our kids. It doesn't help that media such as TV and movies actually discourages morals and ambition.
