There is one lawn that we do that quite often has a clear jelly like substance in it. After rain or in wet weather and nearly always in the same general place. It looks like frog spawn without the spawn. I've been meaning to ask for some time! Any ideas anybody? I have a feeling more fungi related but...? |

The alga Nostoc commune forms (usually greenish) lumps of jelly after rain so could be what you are seeing. It is sometimes caused 'Star Slime'. |

I's like hard jelly rather than slime. Not green but clear - no colour (depending on art or lighting background!   ). Thaks T anyway x

No - the best I can describe it is like frog spawn with no spawn..but more solid?? there's quite a bit of it. |

how about that water retention gel they use in gardening, partic in hanging baskets? Any of those nearby?
It spills out then expands when wet.

Ken | I'm not too sure what it looks like wet! I know these people don't use it and not seen any baskets etc around there, so??? It's all seasons after rain. |
