Challenging Identifications

Thought I set you a bit of a challenge - the grass is Yorkshire Fog (what else from up here), how about the caterpillar, then there's always the aphid and is that a some sort of rust on the leaf?



I'm not seriously expecting identifications but thought I'd share this photo (I thought it was nice) and it seems like there's an awful lot of wildlife on a bit of grass!

Having said that I wouldn't be at all surprised if between you all you don't end up managing them all.

The caterpillar is a sawfly of some description.

Thanks Charlie - not a group where there is much easily accessible literature or even web sites to help with; so the chances of taking a lot of sawfly larvae further are pretty remote - unless anyone knows different?

I didn't know it was some sort of Sawfly, I'm not good at identifying catterpillars. I thought your picture was lovely by the way!
