| | | Animal cruelty videos on YouTube - can we all report them? I regularly do a search for water voles on YouTube because there's some lovely amateur footage out there.
But I was dismayed recently to find this video of a water vole being chased by a dog (and labelled "damn funny" ) YouTube - Dogs chasing water voles and these other two of a water vole being kept in captivity: YouTube - baby water vole 2 YouTube - baby water vole
I've reported both films as the first is offensive and the second two are breaking the law (because water voles are so heavily protected); I've also contacted both YouTube members. But the films are still up.
I wondered whether any other members felt able to press 'flag' and report the films? Maybe YouTube waits on a certain number of responses before it acts. The first film with the dog isn't based in the UK so the person owning the dog isn't breaking the law, but the film could encourage people in this country to do so.
Thanks in advance. |

My worry is - water voles aside - the more people who see animals being mistreated, the more desensitized our society will bcome to cruelty in general (and I'm talking human to human as well as animals). |

| | | Re: Animal cruelty videos on YouTube - can we all report them? I reported it too. I also left a comment. I removed the first one because I swore and then decided that was not a good idea! I put: There is no need for this. It isn't big, brave or clever, it's small, mean, cruel and unneccesary and I have flagged it to You Tube who will hopefully have the sense to remove it.

If you press 'flag', you get various options, one of which leads to 'animal abuse'. The lady keeping the vole in captivity's also breaking the law. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
