I've just read this article in todays Guardian and thought you might be interested. It starts...
"The National Trust has revealed an optimistic vision for the British countryside today, following a biosurvey on a Cornish farm that was carried out 30 years after the organisation's first such study was conducted there.
The number of varieties of plants, insects and birds, many of them extremely rare, has increased threefold......."
