Though I have Ring-necked Parakeets flying over daily I've never seen one in the garden even though they are in the park one road away! |

The berries are ripening up nicely so I expect I'll see them again soon. |

| | | Re: What's in your garden :) well...nothing really exotic, I've been looking out for a Panda mind. I was fortunate enough to be looking out of my window early one morning to see a Heron land by my pond. (don't worry, there's no fish, just tadpoles/frogs/boatmen..there was a newt last year but she seems to have gone) but my cat saw the Heron off, quite brave of her, I think the Heron had decided I had no fish and cleared off anyway.
Also saw for several days running a Jay. A most unusual sight and he landed on the arbor, flew to a hollowed out coconut peanut feeder suspended from a tree that was too light for him to land on, managed to kind of hover for a split second while grabbing peanuts in his beak, then he'd land on the arbor again and hold the nuts with his feet while eating them. A fantastic sight but he eventually got harrassed by some magpies nesting in a neighbours tree and he's not been back since. |

Probably the same set of circumstances as when I once saw a pink elephant in Wolverhampton .... I wonder if he had a headache the next morning too, after seeing the panda?? |

| | | Re: What's in your garden :) We had a sparrowhawk in the garden this morning just sitting there waiting for his breakfast to come by I expect
Unfortunately I disturbed him by trying to sneak out of the back door to take a photo and he flew away.
We strongly suspect it was the sparrowhawk that left the remains of a collared dove a few months ago too - feathers everywhere and the breast meat missing.
I camcordered him once just sitting on our hedge - he was there nearly half an hour.
